End of February Updates

We hope everyone enjoyed the extended weekend!

Just a few things to note:
1. If you are ever looking for fun educational websites
to do with your kids here are two that we like;
PBSkids and Starfall.
2. If anybody has baking items to add to our classroom
basket please send them in with your child.
3. We are more then half way through the year and
finally ran out of glue sticks. Could you please send
some in with your child if you get a chance?
4. Thank you again Melissa (Devin's Mom) for
sending in play dough! As play dough is one of our
favorite centers we are ready for more play dough!
We'd love to have some sent in if you've got the
opportunity to help us out.
Our Star Student of this week is Tobin!
Here is Emily displaying our work on Peter Rabbit
and sequencing. All of the kids should have one of these,
have them explain the sequence of events in Peter Rabbit.

One of our future engineers!!
Kindergarten always gets compliments on how
quiet we are in the hallway. "Hips and lips."
Here is our shared writing this month. We wrote
a poem about "Be(e) Mine" bees. "Bee Bee don't you see? I like
you and you like me!" Again we used as many of our
word wall words as we could!
When the kids come in in the morning there is
always a message on the board. On this particular day
the kids decided they wanted to identify the words that
were not on the word wall by circling them. It cracked me
up because they thought it was the funniest thing! I think
they felt like they were totally breaking the rules. We're
all so silly!

Valentine's Day Party

Our Bees were very busy buzzing around the
classroom on Valentine's Day. The kids were
stuffed full of all the yummy Valentine goodies
we all remember as kids. The party was a success!
Thank you Mommies; Amy (Emily's Mom) and
Janae (Asher's Mom) for joining us!

Happy Valentine's Day! Mrs. Pederson and I
would like to thank you for the thoughtful cards
and goodies. You are too good to us and we
appreciate it greatly!

We're up and running!

Welcome to Mrs. Pederson/Yasenak's Kindergarten Blog!
We are going to try and keep this updated with
what's going on in the life of your "Busy Bees" as well
as information you need to know. We're going to use
the Blog like a newsletter. So, lets get started! Here's our class, most of us. Tobin is missing,
but we'll get a class photo with him next week!
You'll also notice, kind of a bigger kid. That's
Rebecca our high school "field study" student.
We love having her in our room everyday, she helps
all of us out.
One of our favorite centers is playdough, we often
practice making our letters or numbers! Thanks
to Devin's mom for sending new stuff in, we
really needed it!
This center is for students who want to "play"
school and pracitce curriculum they are learning
in the classroom. We often see kids writing new
learned words or like with these two, practicing
math facts.
Floor puzzles are a great opportunity to think about
how thing fit together. Many of the kids like the
challenge of putting them together. They're always
super proud once they completed a puzzle.
This is our writing station, it's one of the most popular
stations in the classroom. It's fun to see what the kids
are interested in creating. We do have to remind them
that it's the "writing center" not just a place to create
abstract art!
This center speaks for itself, it's funny to watch kids
"play" house. Or in recent cases, play doggy and kitties.
Mrs. Pederson and I are thinking "house" might be a
thing in the past for this crew!
Please check in every few days for updates to our Blog!
We welcome you to make comments below, we'd love to
hear from you.
